Chair of a Board of trustees with experience of charity governance needed for a music charity working in Pentonville Prison.
We are seeking a new chair of our board for a charity that runs music workshops in Pentonville Prison. The project called Music in the Ville (under the umbrella charity ELMO) employs professional musicians of all genres to work with the men, encouraging self expression which in turn improves well being, helps alleviate mental health problems and thus improves behaviour and relationships between the men and staff. The Chair needs to have experience in charity governance, an appreciation of the beneficial effect of the arts on well being, and an ability to work with others. Financial and. fundraising experience is desirable but not essential. You will be expected to act as ambassador at events.

The Music in the Ville project is run by a dedicated team of musicians overseen by the artistic director and founder of the charity. This is an exciting time to be joining a dynamic and successful charity and have the satisfaction that you will be part of an organisation playing an important role in improving the life chances of men in prison.
From one hour up to five hours a month, depending on whether there is an event happening.
