Bold Waters is a community organisation working to remove barriers to water safety, swimming and access to the outdoors. We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Communications & Outreach Volunteer to help connect Bold Waters with schools, community organisations and participants.
Bold Waters is a community organisation working to remove barriers to water safety, swimming and access to the outdoors. We deliver inclusive programmes that improve water safety awareness, confidence, leadership, wellbeing and employability, with a particular focus on supporting underrepresented communities. We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Communications & Outreach Volunteer to help connect Bold Waters with schools, community organisations and participants. This role supports the promotion and delivery of our programmes by helping ensure the right information reaches the right people. You will work alongside the team to coordinate communications, maintain contact databases and support outreach activities that encourage participation in our programmes. Duties and responsibilities: ● Support the promotion of Bold Waters programmes and opportunities. ● Research schools, youth organisations and community groups that may benefit from our work. ● Maintain and update contact databases. ● Send information packs, leaflets and programme information using agreed templates. ● Follow up enquiries and expressions of interest. ● Support programme recruitment by communicating with participants and organisations. ● Gather information, photographs, videos and testimonials from programme participants and partners. ● Compile content provided by the team into newsletters using existing templates. ● Help prepare promotional materials for programmes, events and campaigns. ● Keep outreach records organised and up to date. This is a remote volunteer role with flexible hours.

Essential: ● Good written and verbal communication skills. ● Organised and able to manage information accurately. ● Confident using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. ● Good attention to detail. ● Friendly and professional communication style. ● Able to work independently and manage tasks effectively. Desirable: ● Experience in administration, communications or customer service. ● Experience maintaining databases or CRM systems. ● Canva or Mailchimp experience (desirable but not essential). ● Interest in community engagement, education or the voluntary sector.
