We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with gardening experience and great people skills to help maintain our rooftop garden and support our Garden Coordinator to deliver engaging corporate volunteering sessions
We have created an urban oasis in the heart of East London, right here on our rooftop above the day centre. Our garden grows a variety of fruit, vegetables and herbs, which are used to create nutritious breakfasts and lunches for our clients. The rooftop garden is also a space for learning and connection. Alongside supporting corporate volunteer groups, the garden provides opportunities for clients to develop gardening skills through our training programme. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with gardening experience and great people skills to help maintain our rooftop garden and support our Garden Coordinator to deliver engaging corporate volunteering sessions. You will have the opportunity to share your gardening knowledge, help groups get involved and contribute to a welcoming and rewarding experience. As part of your role, you will: • Help to set up and support gardening sessions for groups of up to six corporate volunteers • Share your gardening knowledge and skills • Support the Garden Coordinator to create a welcoming and positive volunteering experience • Water and sow seeds • Hand-weed and keep planting beds tidy • Harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs • Help with general garden maintenance and tidying
