Income Team support assistant, helping with administration, investigating, monitoring to support tenants of Peter Bedford
Peter Bedford Housing Association (PBHA) is a Cooperative and Community Benefit Society with charitable status which works with socially excluded adults in northeast London. We achieve this through the provision of supported housing alongside a wide range of vocational and community-based training opportunities and other activities in some of London’s most deprived areas. We are looking for income assistant volunteers to help us to support tenants with their rental accounts. Some of the key tasks carried out are as follows: • Assist with the processing and monitoring of rental income, service charges, and other housing-related payments • Support the issuing, checking, and reconciliation of invoices and payments • Place invoices on hold where required and liaise with relevant teams regarding payment delays or disputes • Assist with investigating and resolving income discrepancies, arrears, and overpayments • Respond to customer, tenant, and internal queries relating to income and payments in a professional and timely manner • Maintain accurate records on housing management and financial systems • Support the preparation of reports for the Income Officer and management • Liaise with internal departments such as Housing Benefits, Overpayments, Finance, and Tenancy Services • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and financial regulations • Provide general administrative support to the Income Team as required

• Experience in an administrative, finance, or income-related role (desirable) • Good understanding of income collection processes, preferably within housing or local authority settings • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Good IT skills, including confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word) • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines • Team-focused with the ability to work independently when required

At least one shift of 3 to 7 hours once a week on an agreed day. The Kingsland Hub is open from 9.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Three months commitment is ideal and can be extended if it suits you and the Kingsland Hub. Keeping to regular shift days and times enables us to run a smooth and successful volunteer programme, so shift patterns will be agreed with you in advance with your supervisor
