Detailed Description

Tempo Time Credits work with communities across the City of London (Square Mile) to create more inclusive and accessible opportunities for children, young people and families to get involved in their communities and shape social action together. Tempo are in need of volunteers to support the community engagement of young people by establishing/supporting a youth board and creating new volunteering pathways. Tempo’s focus will be on increasing participation in social action and volunteering among children, young people, and families using the Time Credits model. Our approach is community-led: creating opportunities designed and shaped with families and residents themselves and removing barriers to participation. Volunteering on our youth citizen panel will help create more pathways to participation, support strong community connections, increase confidence and bring a greater sense of belonging across the City of London. Volunteers will help shape and influence the panel in numerous ways: • Establish and build partnerships with local organisations, charities and businesses. • Begin co-design of volunteering and social action projects. • Launch initial volunteering opportunities and pilot projects. Examples of activities/opportunities may include: • Community events and neighbourhood improvement projects. • Intergenerational activities connecting young people and families. • Environmental and green space initiatives. • Cultural or heritage-based community projects. Outputs: • Multiple co-designed social action projects. • Increased participation from families as a natural extension of youth engagement. • Strengthened community ownership and leadership. The programme will aim to help remove barriers by creating welcoming, flexible and community led opportunities that value people’s time, ideas and contributions.
