We are looking for a craft volunteer who will ensure sessions from start to finish, are delivered with clients as the main focus and aim to create a cohesive, fun, supportive community.
Shoreditch Trust's WeConnect in the City runs a programme of creative and wellbeing activities for adults and young families resident in the City. This is an opportunity to work with Shoreditch Trust, an established charity, serving the needs of residents of City of London. At Shoreditch Trust, we deliver creative health activities to support clients to manage their physical and mental wellbeing. This involves delivery of creative pursuits such as sewing, embroidery, textiles, crochet etc which offers clients the opportunity to pursue lifelong learning, build new connection with peers and share skills. We are looking for a craft volunteer who will ensure sessions from start to finish, are delivered with clients as the main focus and aim to create a cohesive, fun, supportive community. Duties and responsibilities of the volunteer include: • Planning and delivery of craft activities suitable to adults with varying skills. • Create a welcoming, safe and inclusive space. • Prepare each session by setting up room with relevant resources and equipment. • Work with team members to purchase relevant craft materials when needed. • Engage with clients to understand their interests and requests. • Work with team to support clients with community navigation. • Adhering to safeguarding and health and safety requirements.

Essential experience, knowledge and passion for craft; sewing, embroidery, textiles at hobby to intermediate level. Enthusiasm to share skills and knowledge with clients.
• Develop facilitation skills. • Access appropriate training. • Gain understanding of non-clinical health interventions. • Insight into understanding service delivery at charity level. • Using creative approach to support clients with their health and wellbeing, alleviating isolation and loneliness.
Weekly 2 hours on Friday.
