Detailed Description

Shoreditch Trust's WeConnect in the City runs a programme of creative and wellbeing activities for adults and young families resident in the City. This is an opportunity to work with an established charity, serving the needs of Shoreditch and the City of London. Shoreditch Trust believes that coming together to cook and share good food can be transformative. We provide a nutritious free vegetarian lunch every Friday in the City. Community Table connects people to the good quality food essential for health and wellbeing. We are looking for volunteer chefs to join our community table team. Duties and responsibilities in the role include: • Help prepare ingredients (e.g., chopping vegetables, measuring spices). • Assist with cooking the meal under the guidance of our staff members. • Serve meals to lunch club attendees with warmth and care. • Support with clearing up after the meal (washing up, tidying the space). • Engage with diners. • Support with cleaning and tidying up. • Where appropriate, help with community navigation and signposting; sharing information about local services, events, and opportunities to connect. Skills required for the role: • Enthusiastic about food and cooking • Good culinary skills • Team player, enjoys working as a team. • Good customer service
