We’re looking for community‑minded residents who are willing to learn, communicate well, work collaboratively, and bring their local knowledge; no professional skills required.
The Boiler House Community Space Charity are dedicated to unlocking the immense potential of strengthening community networks and the support and capital they generate, both in positive and challenging times. We are seeking two enthusiastic residents of the Myddelton Grange Estate to join our Board of Trustees. As resident trustees, you will help shape and support our work, ensuring it reflects the needs of local people. This role will enable you to: • Make a positive difference in your local community. • Use your lived experience and local knowledge to influence decisions. • Gain skills in governance, planning, and community development. • Meet new people and strengthen local networks. • Support projects that improve residents’ quality of life

Resident Trustee roles do not require professional qualifications or specialist expertise. What is essential is that applicants are residents of the Myddelton Grange Estate, have a connection to their local community, and are willing to learn and contribute. Volunteers should have competent English language skills (written and verbal), basic maths ability, and the confidence to participate in discussions, ask questions, and bring their lived experience to the Board. A willingness to learn about trusteeship, develop new skills, and work collaboratively is key.
This role offers residents the opportunity to develop confidence, skills and influence by shaping decisions that affect their community. Volunteers will gain skills including: • Understanding how a charity Board works • Confidence speaking and participating in meetings • Problem solving and decision making • Teamwork and communication • Community leadership
Resident Trustees are expected to attend 6–8 meetings per year (every two months), including the AGM, with occasional additional meetings, activities, or community events by arrangement. Specific times of meetings TBC by arrangement

Trustee meetings will take place rotationally online and in person at both our Geroge Downing and Myddelton Grange Estates.
