Estate Based Youth Theatres (EBYTs) - Volunteer

Immediate Theatre

The EBYT Volunteer will support the delivery of weekly youth theatre sessions and related productions. Role might include : Session Support,Young People Support, Administration & Organisation,Events. Volunteers will work closely with Lead Facilitators and report directly to the Participation Manager. Volunteers play an important role in ensuring sessions run smoothly, safely and effectively, while helping to create a positive and inclusive environment for all young people.

Detailed Description

The EBYT Volunteer will support the delivery of weekly youth theatre sessions and related productions. Volunteers will work closely with Lead Facilitators and report directly to the Participation Manager. Key Responsibilities Session Support Support Lead Facilitators during weekly youth theatre sessions. Assist with drama activities, group exercises and creative tasks. Encourage and positively engage young people during workshops. Help manage small group work where appropriate. Support the inclusion of all participants, including those who may require additional encouragement. Young People Support Act as a positive role model. Support young people to feel safe, heard and respected. Help maintain appropriate behaviour standards in line with Immediate Theatre’s values. Assist with walk overs when necessary Escalate any concerns regarding wellbeing or safeguarding to the Lead Facilitator or Participation Manager. Administration & Organisation Assist with the input of data and basic administrative tasks as instructed. Help prepare and distribute materials. Support any paperwork or documentation required by Lead Facilitators. Session Setup Assist with setting up the space before sessions (chairs, props, materials). Help tidy and organise materials at the end of sessions. Support the safe storage of equipment and resources. Production Support Support rehearsals leading up to performances. Assist with backstage organisation during productions where required. Help with basic event preparation such as programmes, audience seating, or front-of-house support. Safeguarding Responsibilities Adhere strictly to Immediate Theatre’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies. Maintain professional boundaries at all times. Immediately report any safeguarding concerns to the Lead Facilitator or Participation Manager. Ensure confidentiality and appropriate conduct when working with young people.
