Shine Night Walk London event volunteer (City of London)

Shine Night Walk London starts at Battersea Park on Saturday 19 September, follows all the main great views that London has to offer and finishes at Evolution Dome in Battersea Park on Sunday 20 September. We are in need of event volunteers at our location within the City of London (Square Mile) at Cater Lane Gardens to support us with a variety of roles during the event.

Detailed Description

Shine Night Walk London starts at Battersea Park on Saturday 19 September, follows all the main great views that London has to offer and finishes at Evolution Dome in Battersea Park on Sunday 20 September. We are in need of event volunteers at our location within the City of London (Square Mile) at Cater Lane Gardens to support us with a variety of roles during the event. The duties/roles avaliable at Cater Lane Gardens are: -     Course Route Volunteer: You will be located at a strategic point along the course, ready to cheer and motivate the walkers as they make their way across the city. You will be supported by a Zone Manager and be paired up with another volunteer. You can also bring a friend to buddy up with! -     Cycle Team Volunteer: Guide, support & motivate walkers by cycling parts of the route. Must own a bicycle and helmet. -     Pit Stop Volunteer: You could be placed at one of our pit-stops, helping to motivate the walkers & handing out refreshments. We’re on the lookout for individuals and groups who are: - Engaging, friendly and keen to make sure everyone has a brilliant day. - Flexible and willing to get stuck in and help. - Team players - you’ll be joining a lovely bunch of other volunteers! But mainly those who can bring their energy, smiles and passion to help us beat cancer together! Please note: - Volunteers need to be aged 13 years old or above to volunteer at a Shine Night Walk. Any volunteers under the age of 18 will need permission from a parent or legal guardian and will need to be accompanied by this responsible adult at the event. - You must be living in the UK in order to volunteer at one of our events. - We ask all applicants to disclose to us, in confidence, any unspent criminal convictions. We want you to have the best experience at our events and ensure you get the most out of your volunteering experience. We will: - Be in contact in the lead up to the day so you know what to expect, what to bring and to answer any questions you might have - Give you a full briefing on arrival - Support and guide you throughout the evening - Provide a volunteer hi-vis and any other kit required to carry out your role - Provide hot drinks, meals and snacks as appropriate - Cover your travel and other reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, as agreed with your Event Manager. Other locations that are avaliable (all different shift times) to volunteer at include: • Start: Battersea Park - Albert Car Park/ Go Ape end. • Pit Stop 1 - Upper Grosvenor Gardens) • Pit Stop 2 - London Nautical School • Pit Stop 3 - Cater Lane Gardens (City of London) • Pit Stop 4 - The Francis Crick • Pit Stop 5/6 - Wellington Arch • Finish: Battersea Park - Evolution If you are interested, please register interest in the role and we will send over our internal registration form for you to sign up.

What is in it for you

You will helping raise money for life saving research, get to know other amazing volunteers and local communities and maybe develop new skills. Cancer Research UK cannot run our events without volunteers. Together we are beating cancer.
