ThreadPoint is a Hackney-based creative education studio delivering hands-on LEGO workshops that help families understand where the internet lives and how digital infrastructure works. Following a recent borough-wide commission, we are entering a growth phase and are seeking a Volunteer Operations Project Coordinator to help shape the next stage of our organisation. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Founder to build structure and systems around a year-long community programme running across Hackney. Responsibilities include: • Coordinating workshop schedules, venue logistics, and kit movements. • Supporting volunteer and facilitator onboarding. • Developing and managing light operational systems (attendance tracking, stock lists, Google Workspace). • Assisting with stakeholder communications and simple impact reporting. • Identifying inefficiencies and building processes to streamline delivery. • Supporting funding and partnership documentation where appropriate. This role is ideal for someone organised, proactive, and excited about building systems from the ground up. You will gain first-hand experience in how a community-led education initiative grows, scales, and partners with public institutions. The Details: • Time: Approx. 4–6 hours per week. • Location: Flexible and remote-friendly (mostly remote). • Growth: This role has the potential to evolve into a paid operations position as the programme expands.

Minimum: • Highly organized and detail-oriented. • Confident using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive). • Strong written and verbal communication. • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment. • The ability to spot inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Desirable: • Interest in operations, social enterprise, or education. • Prior experience in project coordination or events. • A calm, problem-solving approach under pressure.
