Detailed Description

The Sowing Seeds of Change project would involve coaching, session planning, leading and evaluating training sessions, and matching strategies to improve players/participants' skills, fitness, and team performance. Key Responsibilities: - Coaching & Training: Plan and run engaging practice sessions, teach techniques, and develop children and young people's tactical game plans, and build their confidence - Player & Youth Development: Assess individual player strengths and weaknesses, giving constructive feedback and tailored training goals. - Match Management: Work alongside Head Coach to select team line-ups, manage game strategies on match days, and coordinate team logistics. - Welfare & Safety: To be a positive role model, ensure equipment is safe, maintain first-aid readiness, and enforce safeguarding rules for players/participants.

What is in it for you

The volunteer will gain strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills. The benefits would also include support to complete a Level 1 Football Coaching course, as well as developing and communicating with a variety of people, e.g. parents. Good planning, organising, and creating their own session plans, with time management skills. Also, the ability to project a positive image of sport to people at all levels, be adaptable and comfortable working with disadvantaged children and young people of all age groups. The volunteer would gain a sense of purpose; having a structured schedule that would instil pride, identity and a sense of accomplishment. • Influence the future direction of grassroots football in the community, and help shape and improve the experience of thousands of participants as a positive role model • Gain expertise while developing own leadership experience • Be part of an ambitious group committed to continuous improvement • References would also be provided if needed.

Time Commitment

This is an ongoing opportunity. The sessions are twice-weekly after-school sessions, hours 4pm -6pm. Opportunity can be flexible depending on the club’s needs for additional time for events, match days or other club activities when required.
