As a Storytelling Volunteer, help to animate the collection by sharing what makes objects special, interesting or personally meaningful and inviting visitors to do the same. No arts background or special skills are required, just friendliness and a curious mind – all training is provided! This role is based at V&A East Museum.

No arts background or special skills are required, just friendliness and a curious mind – all training is provided! This role is based at V&A East Museum. To become a volunteer, you need to attend a selection event and an induction event each run from approximately 10:00 – 14:00. The available dates are: 10 October - Selection Event 13 October - Selection Event 21 October - Induction Event 24 October - Induction Event Unfortunately, we are unable to offer alternative dates for the selection and induction event, so these dates and times do not work for you, please wait for a future recruitment round to apply Get in touch with us at eastvolunteering@vam.ac.uk if you have any questions. What you will be doing • Bring objects to life with stories about different cultures and ways of making • Chat with visitors about the displays and what they find fascinating • Explore a remarkable collection, with support to pursue and share your interests • Join an exciting conversation about the power of creativity and collaboration Disclaimer: Successful applicants for this role will be required to undergo a basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. This will be carried out by the V&A. All relevant training and support will be provided.

Volunteering at V&A East is flexible and there’s no minimum time commitment. Slots are available across the week, including weekends and evenings, and last between 2-4hrs, so you can choose what is best for you.
