Detailed Description

Bridge the Gap Ending Digital Poverty CIC exists to empower individuals and families who are being left behind because they cannot access or use technology confidently. We work closely with libraries, food hubs, community centres, and faith groups across London to provide devices, data SIMs, and friendly digital support that genuinely changes lives. As we prepare to reopen our community drop-in hubs, we’re looking for passionate Digital Skills Champions to join our warm, down-to-earth volunteer team. ⭐ What You’ll Do As a Digital Skills Champion, you’ll help residents with things that many of us take for granted, such as: Supporting someone to learn the basics of using their phone, laptop, or tablet Helping them set up essential tools like email, online forms, passwords, and apps Showing them how to stay safe online and avoid scams Guiding them step-by-step at a pace that suits them Encouraging people who may feel anxious, embarrassed, or unsure about technology Your support helps people gain confidence, stay connected, apply for jobs, access benefits, talk to their GP, support their children — and feel included again. ⏱ Your Commitment We ask for 2–4 hours per week, at one of our BTG hubs across Hackney. You choose the day and location that works for you. You don’t need to be a tech expert — patience, kindness, and a willingness to help is what matters most. 💬 Why Join Us?
