Children with Voices

Children with Voices is is hosting a warm, festive Christmas Brunch Party for families in Stamford Hill, in collaboration with St Thomas' Church. The event will bring together local children for food, fun, creativity, and community spirit. We are in need of volunteers to support the smooth running of the Christmas Brunch on Monday 22nd December by helping with food preparation, activity supervision, safety, and creating a joyful, inclusive atmosphere for all attending children and families.

Detailed Description

Children with Voices is is hosting a warm, festive Christmas Brunch Party for families in Stamford Hill, in collaboration with St Thomas' Church. The event will bring together local children for food, fun, creativity, and community spirit. We are in need of volunteers to support the smooth running of the Christmas Brunch by helping with food preparation, activity supervision, safety, and creating a joyful, inclusive atmosphere for all attending children and families. The party is on Monday 22nd December between 12:00 and 18:00 but volunteers will be required to support from 10:30. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Child & Activity Support: - Engage positively with children aged 5–11. - Supervise small groups during activities such as arts & crafts, carol singing, decorating, and games. - Assist with transitions between activities. - Help create a warm environment. Food & Kitchen Support: - Assist with brunch preparation and plating. - Support volunteers preparing diverse dishes. - Monitor and refill buffet tables. - Maintain hygiene standards. - Assist with washing up and clearing plates. - Help with loading/unloading food supplies. Event Setup & Pack Down: - Set up tables, chairs, decorations, and activity zones. - Lay out craft materials. - Assist with welcome area. - Clean and tidy the hall after the event. General Duties: - Follow instructions from CWV staff. - Maintain a positive attitude. - Be proactive and flexible. - Ensure safety and inclusion. Skills & Qualities we’re Looking For: - Friendly and patient. - Good with children. - Strong communication skills. - Team player. - Enthusiastic and adaptable. Safeguarding Requirements: - DBS preferred but not essential. - Volunteers without DBS will be paired. - Must follow CWV safeguarding guidance What You’ll Gain: - Support local families during the festive season. - Experience working with children and events. - Teamwork and organisational skills. - A joyful, festive community day.
