Walking Volunteer
Volunteer Centre Hackney
Do you enjoy walking and chatting with others? We’re looking for a volunteer to lead our weekly walking group from the Queensbridge Group Practice GP Surgery based in Dalston. Help lead local walks, encourage participants, and create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere as part of the Together Better programme.
Together Better is a Volunteer Centre Hackney project that aims to lighten the load on GP surgeries and encourage NHS patients into activities that will benefit their health and wellbeing, by supporting them to build inclusive and sustainable relationships and overall healthier lives. We are in need of a walking volunteer to guide a group of participants on a weekly walk around our area of Dalston- parks include London Fields, Shoreditch Park, Hackney Downs and more. The walking route is different every week, we have a small group of 4/5 people and we do a walk that lasts typically 1.5 hours. You would just need to act as their guide in terms of where to go, engage with people and have good chat.
