Local Voice in the Community Ltd
Local Voice is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of an organisation dedicated to ensuring local people's experiences influence health and care services. As a Trustee, you will provide strategic leadership, oversight and constructive challenge to support the organisation's mission, sustainability and impact. Time commitment: approximately one day per month, including attendance at Board meetings, committee meetings and preparation time.
Local Voice is seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of an organisation dedicated to ensuring local people's experiences influence health and care services. As a Trustee, you will provide strategic leadership, oversight and constructive challenge to support the organisation's mission, sustainability and impact. Trustees work collectively to ensure Local Voice remains financially sustainable, well governed and focused on delivering meaningful change for communities. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with experience in strategic finance, financial management, business development, commissioning, organisational growth, governance, public services, community engagement or the voluntary sector. Trustees are responsible for: • Contributing to the strategic direction of Local Voice. • Monitoring organisational performance and impact. • Overseeing financial sustainability and risk management. • Ensuring compliance with charity and company law. • Supporting good governance and effective decision-making. • Participating in Board meetings and committee work. • Acting as an ambassador for the organisation and its values. This is an opportunity to use your professional skills and experience to support an organisation that works to improve health and care services through community insight, engagement and lived experience. Previous trustee experience is not essential. We welcome applications from people who bring relevant professional expertise and a commitment to our mission. Training and support will be provided. The role is voluntary, although reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

Professional experience in finance, governance, business development, commissioning, health, social care, community engagement or the voluntary sector would be advantageous.

Approximately one day per month, including attendance at Board meetings, committee meetings and preparation time. The Board normally meets six times each year and Trustees are usually expected to participate in one Board Committee. Trustee meetings are usually held in the evenings. Trustees would typically be expected to attend approximately two meetings per quarter: one Board meeting and one committee meeting, usually between 5pm and 7pm.
