Together Better Walking Group Volunteer (Barton House Surgery)

Volunteer Centre Hackney

Do you enjoy walking and chatting with others? We’re looking for a volunteer to support our weekly walking group for Barton House Surgery patients every Monday at 14:00. Help lead local walks, encourage participants, and create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere as part of the Together Better programme.

Detailed Description

Together Better is a Volunteer Centre Hackney project that aims to lighten the load on GP surgeries and encourage NHS patients into activities that will benefit their health and wellbeing, by supporting them to build inclusive and sustainable relationships and overall healthier lives. Do you enjoy walking and chatting with others? We’re looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to help lead and support our weekly walking group for patients registered at Barton House Surgery, as part of the Together Better programme with Volunteer Centre Hackney. The group meets every Monday at 14:00, starting from Barton House Surgery, for a relaxed local walk lasting about an hour. Volunteers will help ensure everyone feels welcome and included, support participants during the walk, and help set a friendly, social atmosphere. There may also be opportunities to take part in or lead longer walks or occasional trips that start earlier in the day. Volunteers will work alongside staff to plan routes, risk assess where necessary, and encourage patient participation. This is a great way to help improve wellbeing, build connections, and promote active lifestyles within the community.
