This ambitious scheme backs the talents of young people to improve their life chances, while at the same time strengthening local communities. 1MM was founded on the belief that through personal, one-to-one mentoring more young people can grow the knowledge, networks, skills and confidence they need to succeed. Mentors from diverse professional backgrounds are trained and supported to guide young people aged 14-25, helping them achieve their goals and build confidence. Mentors will support mentees on career progression and building their confidence and offering guidance and you will be doing this in your sessions, it is mentee led, also it is a hybrid format. We ask our volunteers to sign up to our platform and complete some mandatory online training. Mentors to have 2 years’ experience, either work, post graduate, retired or on a career break. This role requires a DBS Check
Access to our platform’s mentor resources and online training to help you in your mentoring journey . To support and create connections in your local community . Develop skills in guidance, listening and empathy.
It is a one hour a month for up to a year, on a set day and time and is hybrid.
