The maternity vaccine clinic is based in the waiting room of the obstetric scan department and is often missed when clients are attending their scans and antenatal midwife and doctors appointments. Pertussis and flu vaccines are a key public health intervention to protect both pregnant client and unborn baby. The vaccination rates at HUH are lower than that of our neighbouring maternity providers. Having somebody ‘walk the waiting room’ and remind people of where we are based would be really helpful for our clinic’s visibility. Additionally, gathering client and service user feedback is a top priority for the Homerton. We will also be able to gather data on why clients are sceptical or hesitant to receive vaccine during their pregnancy. We are looking for volunteers who are able to help carry out our surveys. If you are confident, friendly and outgoing or wish to improve your confidence this is the role for you!
