If you are enthusiastic and keen to get involved, then why not join us as a cheer point volunteer? We’d love to have you onboard! We need you to help ensure support for Pancreatic Cancer UK is the loudest and the most purple, at running and walking events! Our incredible teams of runners and walkers raise vital funds for our work and as a cheer point volunteer you will give them the boost they need to get across the finish line. By increasing our visibility, you’ll also raise awareness.
Volunteer role description Cheer Point Volunteer Team: Events Fundraising Supervisor: Event Lead When: see list of events and dates throughout the year Location: at the event location Minimum Age: 16 years – We welcome applications from people aged 16 or 17 years old. We just need your parent or guardian to complete and sign our consent form. We are Pancreatic Cancer UK. We bring more breakthroughs through research, more change through campaigning, and more support through our expert nurses. Because people with pancreatic cancer need more than hope. Why we need you: We need you to help ensure support for Pancreatic Cancer UK is the loudest and the most purple, at all our running and walking events! What you’ll be doing: • Come to one or more of our events during the year • Shout, sing, clap and join our cheer squad to give our amazing runners the best experience • Wear our purple t-shirt and represent Pancreatic Cancer UK • Ahead of the event you will need to read through our induction or join an online briefing session What you can expect from us • We will make you feel welcome, included and respected • An online or written induction to Pancreatic Cancer UK and your role • On the day support from a named supervisor • Reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses in line with our Volunteer Expenses Policy • To be part of a committed team making a difference to people affected by Pancreatic Cancer Thank you very much for your interest in this role. Our incredible teams of runners and walkers raise vital funds for our work, and as a cheer point volunteer, you will play a vital role in giving them the boost they need to get across the finish line. You'll be part of a special squad, increasing our visibility, and raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK and our important cause.
