The Dockland Settlements
The Dockland Settlements runs a weekly food bank on the Isle of Dogs serving the local community. This is run by a member of staff from the charity who is supported by volunteers. Volunteers will help with the unloading of food from deliveries and packaging food parcels prior to the food bank opening to users. Currently the food bank opens on a Wednesday between 11.30am and 2pm. Volunteers are needed from 10.30am to help with food management and then to help distribute parcels once the doors

Volunteers need to be able to pack food into parcels as a minimum. Other tasks include manoeuvring crates of food from deliveries as well as moving food from storage areas to the food bank (all within the same site).
Some light physical exercise as well as the opportunity to help people who are in serious need of support. A reference can be provided after a period of volunteering.
A maximum of 4 hours per week on a Wednesday.
