Youth Volunteering Facilitator

TimeGivers

TimeGivers is a London based charity that partners with schools to integrate volunteering into education, empowering children and young people (aged 4-18) to engage with their local communities and develop purpose-driven and practical skills. Adult Volunteers can support a wide variety of fun and meaningful 'giving back' activities during school hours, including arts and crafts, cooking, planting, gardening, or doing a litter pick. Time commitment is very flexible.

Detailed Description

TimeGivers want a world where all young people have access to enriching volunteering opportunities to help them and their communities grow. We are dedicated to empowering young people through hands-on volunteering opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have access to. TimeGivers is a London-based charity that partners with schools to integrate volunteering into education, empowering children and young people (aged 4-18) to engage with their local communities and develop purpose-driven and practical skills. Adult Volunteers can support a wide variety of fun and meaningful 'Giving Back' activities during school hours, including: Arts and Crafts - Helping young people create decorations alongside local care home residents. Cooking and Baking - Supporting young people to make nutritious meals for a community kitchen. Environmental - Helping students regenerate their community green spaces - planting, gardening or doing a litter pick.

Why these skills are required

All we ask is that our Youth Volunteering Facilitators enjoy working with children and are reliable, helpful, kind and enthusiastic! It’s great if you have a skill in or enjoy doing activities like arts and crafts, cooking and baking, gardening, sewing, creative writing, woodwork/DIY. These are all useful to TimeGivers, but not a requirement! Most of our volunteering activities last between 1 hour and 3 hours, and Youth Volunteering Facilitators will be on their feet for a lot of the time, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed.

Time Commitment

We need Youth Volunteering Facilitators during school term time, Monday-Friday, within school hours, for 1-3 hours. Youth Volunteering Facilitators are welcome to choose from supporting TimeGivers for a one-off event, or being a more regular volunteer, eg supporting a weekly club for 4-6 weeks consecutively.
