LEGO Workshop Volunteer – Join Our Monthly Community Sessions! 🧱

Join our free monthly LEGO workshops across Hackney! Help welcome families, support children with building activities and create a positive community atmosphere. No experience needed β€” just enthusiasm and warmth. Saturdays 10:30am–1:30pm at venues across Hackney throughout 2026. Regular volunteers welcome, but flexibility supported.

Detailed Description

ThreadPoint is delivering free, family-friendly LEGO workshops across Hackney throughout 2026 β€” and we’d love you to be part of it. Each month, we bring children and families together to build, explore and learn through hands-on creative activities in welcoming community spaces. We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help create a warm, positive atmosphere at our sessions. You’ll help welcome families, support children during building activities, assist with light set-up and pack-down, and simply be an encouraging presence in the room. No specialist knowledge is needed β€” just patience, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Sessions take place on Saturdays, 10:30am–1:30pm at the following locations: β€’ 11 April – Hackney Central Library β€’ 23 May – Morland Community Centre β€’ 20 June – Holmleigh Community Centre β€’ 25 July – Woodberry Down Community Hub β€’ 15 August – Nightingale Estate Community Space β€’ 19 September – Laburnum Street Community Room β€’ 24 October – Daubeney Road Estate Hub β€’ 7 November – Homerton Library β€’ 5 December – Napier Grove Community Hall We would love volunteers who can join us regularly and become a familiar face in the community. However, we understand that life is busy β€” flexibility is absolutely welcome. Come build something meaningful with us.

Creative & Design, Language Skills, Reading & Writing

Why these skills are required

- Be friendly, calm and confident working with children in a group setting - Feel comfortable reading aloud to small groups - Be able to follow light guidance and support a child-led activity - Be reliable, punctual and present in shared spaces - Enthusiastic Full training & a facilitator guide, no technical or STEM experience needed.

What is in it for you

Volunteers will gain hands-on experience supporting creative, inclusive education in a real community setting. They’ll receive a facilitator guide and a copy of the book, build confidence working with children, and be part of an imaginative, values-led project that makes tech accessible to all. Travel expenses are reimbursed, and volunteers will be prioritised for future paid or voluntary roles with ThreadPoint Foundation.
