Love playing music? Sunday Assembly London is a secular organisation which aims to help tackle the loneliness epidemic by encouraging Londoners to live better, help often and wonder more – together! We are looking for people to join our live band and help us perform pop songs in front of a friendly audience. The role involves: • Helping to select songs to perform • Learning and rehearsing music • Helping to set up and pack away sound equipment • Performing live You need to be available Sundays
Sunday Assembly London is a secular organisation which aims to help tackle the loneliness epidemic by encouraging Londoners to live better, help often and wonder more – together! We meet twice a month to listen to uplifting talks and spoken word performances, sing pop songs together (because communal singing is great for mental health) and enjoy chats over tea and biscuits. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and welcome all who welcome all. We are looking for people to join our live band and help us perform pop songs in front of a friendly audience. To be a Band Member you will need to be: • able to sing or play a typical pop/rock instrument (guitar, bass, drums, keys), preferably to Grade 5 standard or equivalent • personable and outgoing • flexible • able to work well with others.
You will gain: • Experience of performing live music • Development of musicianship skills • Being part of the Sunday Assembly London community
Band members need to be available to attend our events, which take place on the first and third Sunday of every month (except August), arriving at 9:30am to help set up, and staying until 1pm. We operate a rota for events, so individuals do not need to commit to attending every event. Band members also need to be available to attend a rehearsal in the week before performing. This takes place from 7-9pm on a Thursday at a location in Dalston.
