Volunteer Centre Hackney
Together Better – Lower Clapton are looking for a craft club volunteer to co - lead a local crafts club group in the Hackney marshes area on a fortnightly basis and support them through their creations. This is an exciting opportunity to get experience and practice your skills, while giving back to your local community.
Together Better is a Volunteer Centre Hackney project that aims to lighten the load on GP surgeries and encourage patients into activities that will benefit their health and wellbeing, by supporting them to build inclusive and sustainable relationships and overall healthier lives. Together Better – Lower Clapton are looking for a craft club volunteer to co - lead a local crafts club group in the Hackney marshes area on a fortnightly basis and support them through their creations. Duties and responsibilities include: • To lead participants into craft ideas and have a plan of what they will do. • To create a project plan for participants to follow for up to 6 weeks. • To encourage participants to work on their own projects from home if that is their preference. • To support and encourage participants especially if they are improving. • To have a can do and problem solving attitude when they have difficulties with their work.

• A creative flair and experience of crafting. • Experience of leading a group through creative projects would be desirable. • Flexible attitude to people’s work – many of our participants need encouragement as they have additional needs.
The volunteer will be meeting a variety of interesting people living in the Hackney Marshes area and up their skills whilst supporting people creatively. The volunteer will be working with our current volunteer on a fortnightly basis, and they will develop the programme together.
