Are you passionate about getting teenage girls active? We are looking for women who are interested in speaking with girls in schools about how physical activity has helped them with mental wellbeing, education and career goals and developing skills. The project aims to showcase the employability skills gained through participation in sport as a key incentive to get girls physically active, particularly those from lower income families and ethnically diverse communities who face the biggest barriers to being active. We are partnering with the Sweaty Betty Foundation to deliver workshops to girls in secondary schools across Tower Hamlets about the importance of physical activity. Our inspirational workshops last between 1.5 to 2 hours, and are pre-created with discussion points and activities, with space for you, the role model, to input information about your own career and physical activity journeys. The workshop is split to look at physical activity in wellbeing, skill development and achieving ambitious goals. Before delivering a workshop in a school, you will receive a guidance pack and have an online 1-1 training call to talk you through the activity. Ahead of the workshop, you will need to pre-populate the volunteer slides with information relevant to you (a template will be provided). You are not expected to deliver workshops on your own - you will be supported by a member of our staff or another volunteer. You can do as many or as few workshops as you like, and we liaise with the school against your availability, location etc. You may have 1 day of volunteering available a year at work, or the capacity to support on a regular basis - we welcome either! Even if you can give one morning to be involved, it would be valuable. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

The workshops will be available in June/July 2026 and Sept – Dec 2026. You can share your availability with us in advance, or keep us updated on a rolling basis. Each workshop is approx. 1.5 hours within a school, and you can decide which school you would like to attend when we share the opportunities out.
