It Takes A Village is a charitable company focusing on poverty, mental health, well-being, charity events and community based matters. We are looking for a happy volunteer to support our Friday Food Redistribution Project. The volunteer will collect food from Pret-a-Manger in the City (EC2V) and deliver to a hostel in Stoke Newington (N16). This job can be completed by either two volunteers with large rucksacks and an additional shopping bag each or one volunteer with a food trolley (we can provide this and leave with you if need be).

You have to care and have a genuine concern for people going through hardships, in different circumstances. Being familiar with people from different backgrounds is very helpful for this role.
Our valued volunteers have told us they gained life experience and knowledge, improving their personal development and enhancing their interpersonal skills. They have also told us they found it to be very uplifting and empowering. Volunteers also have the opportunity to engage in our Volunteer workshops; providing support and guidance to volunteers as well as hearing what they have to say.

Collection location: Pret-a-Manger 30 Gresham St EC2V 7PG Collection time: 4pm - no later Buses from Hackney: 141, 21, 76 141 & 21 are currently on diversion from Moorgate so 76 is recommended for now 76 - get off at London Wall and walk up in the direction of Poultry/Cheapside turn right onto Gresham Street Drop off: Glebelands Hostel Clissold Road N16 9ER Drop off time: By 5.15pm Buses from City: 141 - get off at Newington Gn and get a 73 or 476 to Clissold Crescent (1stop) or walk Buses from City: 21 - get off at Essex Road and get a 73 or 476 to Clissold Crescent (as above) Buses from City 43 - get off at Angel and get a 73 or 476 to Clissold Crescent (as above
