Detailed Description

More Life Home is a not-for-profit organisation, supporting those in Tower Hamlets who are facing poverty and crisis by providing free and low-cost furniture and homeware via referral to those in need. We have a pre-loved retail shop where we sell good quality, fairly priced, pre-loved clothing, homeware and furniture. Our retail space will be relocating shortly, so we are currently seeking volunteers to support us with sorting, arranging stock and the shop floor as we prepare to run a mega sales event before we move. This stock clearance event will run over 2 dates only. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to the duration of one full day, however if you wish to support both days, that would be great - please let us know. The dates are: Tuesday 19th May - 11.30am - 5.30pm Thursday 21st May - 11.30am - 5.30pm The role includes: - Sorting and organising stock - Steaming clothing - Arranging shelving and displays - Re-arranging furniture - light cleaning and tidying of the stock area and shop floor You will be joined by other volunteers who are also attending to support on the day.

What skills are required for this role

Why these skills are required

No experience required. Volunteers should be able to follow instructions and direction, and be able to work well within a small team. Volunteers may be asked to carry some boxes and stock back and forth from storage so must be physically able to do so.

Time Commitment

This is a one-off volunteering opportunity with 2 dates available, however there may be opportunities for more volunteering in the future. Tuesday 19th May - 11.30am - 5.30pm. Thursday 21st May - 11.30am - 5.30pm.
