Volunteer Translators Wanted | Help Empower ESEA Older Women Project: ESEA Women: Together We Rise Location: Remote / Flexible Time Commitment: Flexible, short-term We are launching a new project ESEA Women: Together We Rise to support older East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) women in navigating the UK’s state benefit and pension systems, helping them better understand what they’re entitled to, and offering practical guidance on managing their household bills. As part of the first phase of the project, we are creating accessible, easy-to-read information booklets in multiple ESEA languages, and we are looking for volunteer translators to help make this resource as inclusive and far-reaching as possible. Who we’re looking for: • Volunteers fluent in English and at least one ESEA language (especially: Vietnamese, Tagalog, Thai, Burmese, Bahasa Indonesia, Korean and Japanese) • People with a passion for community work, inclusion, and accessibility • No formal translation experience required, just accuracy, empathy, and a good grasp of both languages What you’ll do: • Translate short informational texts into your community language • Ensure clarity, cultural relevance, and simplicity • Work remotely at your own pace, we’ll provide you with clear templates and guidance Why volunteer with us? • Be part of a meaningful initiative to reduce financial hardship and isolation among ESEA older women. • Gain experience in community work, translation, and accessible communication. • Receive credit in the final materials (if desired). • We’re happy to provide a reference for your work if required for future job or academic applications

Time Commitment
