One Million Mentors aim to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. They believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion. This ambitious scheme backs the talents of young people to improve their life chances, while at the same time strengthening local communities.
One Million Mentors aim to ensure that every young person in the country has access to a trained mentor as they transition into adulthood. They believe that investing in mentors will help to address the skills gap agenda and improve social cohesion. This ambitious scheme backs the talents of young people to improve their life chances, while at the same time strengthening local communities. 1MM was founded on the belief that through personal, one-to-one mentoring more young people can grow the knowledge, networks, skills and confidence they need to succeed. Mentors from diverse professional backgrounds are trained and supported to guide young people aged 14-25, helping them achieve their goals and build confidence. Our mentoring is one to one, one hour a month, this specific group are young people aged 16-18 year olds. Mentors will support mentees on career progression and building their confidence and offering guidance and you will be doing this in your sessions, it is mentee led, also it is a hybrid format. COMMITMENT: It is a one hour a month, on a set day and time and is hybrid, please see timetable below Launch : 11th Nov - 3pm to 4:45pm (in person) Session 2: 2nd Dec - 3pm to 4pm (in person) Session 3: 13th Jan - 3pm to 4pm (online) Session 4: 10th Feb - 3pm to 4pm (in person) Session 5: 3rd Mar - 3pm to 4pm (online) Session 6: 21st Apr - 3pm to 4pm (in person) Session 7: 5th May - 3pm to 4pm (online) Session 8: 9th Jun - 3pm to 4pm (in person) Graduation: 1st Jul - 11am to 12:45pm (in person)

We ask our volunteers to sign up to our platform and complete some mandatory online training. Mentors to have 2 years’ experience, either work, post graduate, retired or on a career break.
