Role Detail

Front of House Lead

Sunday Assembly London

This is the ideal role for an outgoing, sociable person who wants to give their time to a community and build their experience of events organisation, fundraising, and community management. Assemblies take place twice a month, on Sundays, and front of house volunteers do a range of things to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day and to ensure that newcomers feel welcome. Time commitment is 10 hours per month.

Detailed Description

Sunday Assembly London is a secular organisation which aims to help tackle the loneliness epidemic by encouraging Londoners to live better, help often and wonder more – together! We meet twice a month to listen to uplifting talks and spoken word performances, sing pop songs together (because communal singing is great for mental health) and enjoy chats over tea and biscuits. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and welcome all who welcome all. Front of House Lead is the ideal role for a friendly and outgoing person who wants to give their time to developing the community, ensuring that newcomers feel welcome, and making sure that things run smoothly on the day. The role involves: • Managing a team of front of house volunteers - organising the rota, making sure that volunteers feel supported, communicating any updates about upcoming events, and being on hand to answer any queries they have on the day • Recruiting new Front of House team members when needed • Maintaining a safe and welcoming space at each event for all volunteers and attendees • Ensuring that specific roles are covered at each event to help it go like clockwork, such as running the slideshow, welcoming attendees, collecting donations, and coordinating the tea team • Banking any cash donations collected at events • Helping to manage additional fundraising events led by Sunday Assembly London (approximately 1-2 per year) • Joining regular meetings with the Coordination Crew to plan upcoming Assemblies.
