Carers Centre Tower Hamlets (CCTH) runs a kiosk at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. The kiosk provides promotional leaflets about CCTH services within a hospital setting. They are looking for enthusiastic, friendly volunteers to help with a variety of tasks including: • Running the hospital kiosk, handing out information leaflets (this frees up our staff to undertake ward rounds) • Meeting and talking to carers • Directing carers to CCTH staff and other carer organisations • Ensuring that all visitors to the kiosk are welcomed and happy • Making sure the kiosk is set up and that details of visitors to the kiosk are recorded. Volunteers usually work in pairs for support. Volunteers are asked to complete either one or two shifts per week. Shifts take place on Tuesdays and Fridays and last 4 hours (11am to 3pm). The kiosk is based in Whitechapel. Occasionally volunteers might be asked to help out with our wellbeing sessions at the Carers Centre in Stepney.

You will maintain an efficient kiosk reception service on behalf of the Carers Wellbeing Academy & Volunteer Manager and the Carers Centre. You should be - friendly and approachable - proactive and willing to help - available at least 4 hours a week on Tues and/or Fri (11am-3pm) - respect CCTH policies including code of conduct and the confidential nature of the Carers Centre.
Volunteers will experience giving back and supporting carers at their worst moments. You'll gain experience of customer service, interacting with members of the public. You will be part of a friendly team and receive full training to carry out the role. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed upon receipt.
Volunteers are asked to commit to either one or two shifts per week. Shifts last 4 hours and run from 11am to 3pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. If you are able to help on both shifts, that is ideal, but we are happy to involve volunteers who can only commit to one shift per week.
