Role requirements: • Ability to speak and write effectively in English. • A Food Safety certificate (Food Safety Level 1) would be desirable but is not essential. • Excellent listening and communication skills. • Creativity and reliability. • Awareness of the challenges facing migrant communities and a commitment to Praxis’ core values of solidarity, inclusiveness, respect, and justice.
• Build practical cooking skills — from food prep to working in a real kitchen environment. • Meet new people and feel part of a community — great for confidence and connection. • Make a meaningful impact — helping ensure people receive warm, nutritious meals. • Gain experience for future roles — useful for CVs, references, or exploring a career in food or hospitality.
Timing can be flexible to suit the volunteer’s availability, but we encourage it to fall within the session hours to keep everything running smoothly. Our groups meet on Tuesday daytime, Friday daytime and Wednesday evening.
