Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park

The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park are seeking trustees to join our Board. Trustees are the unpaid volunteers who support the overall strategy, governance and effective functioning of the charity. We are eager to speak to individuals who share our vision and commitment to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and our work around conservation, heritage and community. We are keen to speak with people with experience of finance/treasury, legal or human resources, although these are not essential.

Detailed Description

The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park are seeking trustees to join our Board. Trustees are the unpaid volunteers who support the overall strategy, governance and effective functioning of the charity. We are eager to speak to individuals who share our vision and commitment to Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park and our work around conservation, heritage and community. We are particularly keen to speak with people with experience of finance/treasury, legal, or human resources, although these are not essential requirements. This responsible role requires a long term commitment of 3+ years. This role requires a DBS (criminal record) check, which FOTHCP will pay for.

Why these skills are required

This is a general Trustee role, consistent with the profile of a Trustee as per the Charity Commission's guidance. The following skills would be helpful: - knowledge or understanding of organisational structures and governance - strategic planning - budget/financial oversight - risk and policy management. Trustees will share a commitment to delivering the core objectives of the Charity through effective strategy, governance and management, aligned to our Conservation, Heritage and Community agenda as we preserve, protect and promote the Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park for the enjoyment of all.

Time Commitment

This role requires a long term commitment of 3+ years. Our Board meetings take place quarterly, usually on Monday or Tuesday evenings. We estimate that you will need to give 5-8 hours per month, plus some additional time for further meetings and committees, depending on your interest and expertise.
