As a Welcome Volunteer, you’ll get to chat with visitors, find out what they’re interested in, and suggest activities they’ll enjoy. You’ll also help share the story behind the large objects on display, celebrating all the people - from the V&A and the local community - who help care for and understand them. Why we want you V&A East is dedicated to creative opportunity and its power to bring change. Two free cultural destinations – V&A East Storehouse and Museum – will open up the V&A collection for all, celebrate making in all its forms and create new possibilities for everyone. This role is based at V&A East Museum. As a Welcome Volunteer, you’ll get to chat with visitors, find out what they’re interested in, and suggest activities they’ll enjoy. You’ll also help share the story behind the large objects on display, celebrating all the people - from the V&A and the local community - who help care for and understand them. Volunteering at V&A East is flexible and there’s no minimum commitment. Slots are available across the week, including weekends and evenings, and last between 2-4hrs, so you can choose what’s best for you. What you will be doing? • Greet visitors and find out what interests them. • Suggest interesting activities, events and displays that people will enjoy. • Share the story of V&A East and how different people are shaping the collection. • Explore a remarkable collection, with support to learn about objects that interest you and share your discoveries. Disclaimer Successful applicants for this role will be required to undergo a basic DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. This will be carried out by the V&A. All relevant training and support will be provided.

We’d love for you to join us minimum once a month. Volunteering slots are available during the weekdays, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and mornings, between 2-4 hours, so you can decide what’s best for you.
