Wellbeing Lounge Volunteer

As a Wellbeing Lounge Volunteer you will help create a calm, welcoming, and supportive environment in the Salvation Army’s WellBeing Lounge, offering attendees a space to relax, recharge, and engage in positive wellbeing activities. As well as chatting over a hot drink, you can join clients in relaxing activities such as learning to knit or playing board games. The Wellbeing Lounge is based in Poplar and is open on Fridays from 10am to 2pm, which is when volunteers are needed.

Detailed Description

As a Wellbeing Lounge Volunteer you will help create a calm, welcoming, and supportive environment in the Salvation Army’s WellBeing Lounge, offering attendees a space to relax, recharge, and engage in positive wellbeing activities. Your role will be to sit with clients and engage with them. As well as chatting over a hot drink, you can join them in relaxing activities such as learning to knit or playing board games. The Wellbeing Lounge is based in Poplar and is open on Fridays from 10am to 2pm, which is when volunteers are needed. We are looking for volunteers who can make this regular weekly commitment for at least 6 months.

You will need: • A friendly, approachable, and compassionate nature • Good communication and listening skills • To be calm, patient, and respectful of others’ boundaries • An interest in wellbeing, mental health, or community support (experience not required) • To be reliable and happy to work as part of a team

Time Commitment
