It Gets Better UK envisions a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. At Pride, we run stalls where people can share their story, a message to their younger self, or message of support. The conversations we have are uplifting and often emotional.

Detailed Description

It Gets Better UK is a lived-experience-led LGBTQ+ charity. We envision a world where all LGBTQ+ youth are free to live equally and know their worthiness and power as individuals. At Pride, we run stalls where people can share their story, a message to their younger self, or message of support. The conversations we have are uplifting and often emotional. We're looking for people to join our friendly, passionate, and supportive team to deliver our Pride presence across London. What happens at a stall? - Stalls are delivered as a team. - Help with set up and tidy up. - Welcome people to the stall and introduce them to It Gets Better UK. Invite them to write a message and take a photo. - Help film interviews (as cameraperson or interviewer) collecting people’s stories and reflections. - Signpost people to further support. Availability for the role is: Trans+ Pride: Langham Place, London - Sat 26 July 2025 Black Pride: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London - Sun 10 August 2025

Why these skills are required

Personable, friendly manner. Confidence in crowds and talking to new people. Sensitivity and strong knowledge of the LGBT+ community - lived experience and allies are both welcome.

What is in it for you

Our support to volunteers: A 1:1 briefing with our volunteer manager. Written Pride Guide and Volunteer Handbook. A supportive volunteer team on the day - nobody is ever alone. We pay expenses (food and transport) in line with our expenses policy. We'll provide a reference upon successful completion of your role.

Time Commitment

1 day / half day for each event. You're welcome to sign up to one or multiple events - so the minimum time commitment is half a day; the maximum 3 full days.
