St Mungo’s has been on the frontline of homelessness for 55 years, helping people to move forward with their lives. We’re looking for volunteers to support at a service in Hackney by helping on reception, answering phone calls, booking visitors in and out and helping clients receive their mail.
St Mungo’s has been on the frontline of homelessness for 55 years, helping people to move forward with their lives. We provide support to people across almost every London borough. Our support ranges from emergency housing, opportunities to learn new skills, like our Putting Down Roots gardening programme, through to innovative accommodation projects, like Housing First. We are looking for reception/project support volunteers to help with a variety of duties at our service in Hackney In this role, you will be supporting us with all or some of the following tasks: • Covering reception, meeting and greeting clients and visitors, handling their queries and recording information. • Answering the phone, directing calls and relaying messages. • Helping clients to receive their mail • Supporting the smooth running of the project and maintaining the space clean and tidy and welcoming. • Supporting people to move around the building. • Supporting staff with various tasks as and when needed. • Adhering to St Mungo’s Policies and Procedures at all times. Skills required for the role: • An understanding of the causes of homelessness and its impact. • Empathy and Kindness • Friendliness and good people skills • Resilience and adaptability • Good IT skills • Genuine interest in and commitment to St Mungo’s work and client group. • An understanding of and commitment to diversity & equality.

Minimum 4 hours per week during the period Monday-Friday 8am-6pm
