Caring Together Wellbeing Support Group Volunteer

Carers Centre Tower Hamlets are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to provide support to our unpaid carers via the Caring Together Wellbeing Support Group. You will help deliver peer support activities in the new innovative Mental Health Unit in Bethnal Green, including art and creative activities, cooking, outings and workshops.

Detailed Description

Carers Centre Tower Hamlets are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to provide support to our unpaid carers via the Caring Together Wellbeing Support Group. You will support and assist the Barnsley Street Carers Support Coordinator to deliver peer support activities in the new innovative Mental Health Unit in Bethnal Green. Yur main tasks will be: • To provide support, facilitate and enable unpaid carers to attend a fortnightly wellbeing peer support group. • To help with a variety of tasks, including session preparation, facilitation of art and creative activities, learning workshops, cooking and outings. • To provide administrative support to the group, such as record keeping, and assist with evaluating to enable continuous learning. • To respect at all times the Carers Centre Tower Hamlets policies including the confidential nature of the Carers Centre. This will also apply to appropriate East London Foundation Trust (Barnsley Street) Policies and Procedures. • To undertake training as required. You will be part of a friendly team and receive full support to carry out the role.

Why these skills are required

Lived experience of Mental Health or being an Unpaid Carer is desirable. Having an interest/ability to undertake art, craft and social activities is very much an asset.
