Come join our program of volunteer-led community activities in Hackney GP Practices! Every Wednesday, Together Better Lawson Practice go on a walk around the local area. The lovely regular participants would benefit from a 'lead' volunteer to organise the walk.
Together Better is a Volunteer Centre Hackney project that aims to lighten the load on GP surgeries and encourage patients into activities that will benefit their health and well being, by supporting them to build inclusive and sustainable relationships and overall healthier lives. Lawson Practice are looking to recruit a volunteer who is happy to give an hour of their time each week to lead the “Walking Group” for the participants. There is no formed group as yet – this is something we would like to offer (to our patients) as an activity to reduce isolation, offer a way to improve wellbeing and enjoy being a part of something. There will be differing abilities so ideally we would like someone who is adaptable, happy to engage with a diverse range of people, and be flexible to the speed / needs of the participants. It will be part of the role to keep a record of who attends so that a register can be given to Together Better.
