Your role will involve admin and hands-on duties like setting up for classes and ensuring everything goes off without a glitch. You’ll also be helping residents with different inquiries (Repairs, Housing, Rent, Service Charge, Parking), and inputting information. This role is perfect for an organised individual who wants to gain admin experience in a friendly community environment.
The Welcome Hub is a new inclusive community space, based in the Poplar HARCA building, George Green. It’s a place where residents can access local support services and discover activities in the Poplar area. The hub features engaging programmes to inspire learning and personal growth, as well as valuable community information to help residents stay connected and make the most of what the area has to offer. Your role will involve admin and hands-on duties like setting up for classes and ensuring everything goes off without a glitch. You’ll also be helping residents with different inquiries (Repairs, Housing, Rent, Service Charge, Parking), and inputting information. This role is perfect for an organised individual who wants to gain admin experience in a friendly community environment. Description of tasks: • Help with setting up before sessions and packing away at the end, ensuring the space is welcoming and well organised. • Greet residents and attendees, offering a friendly welcome and helping everyone feel comfortable and included. • Support the refreshment area by setting out and offering tea, coffee, and snacks. • Assist staff by contacting colleagues across different internal teams when needed. • Help with simple administrative tasks such as sending emails, making phone calls, and passing on messages. • Support follow-ups with residents after sessions, checking in or sharing helpful information. • Assist with basic data entry and record-keeping to help keep information accurate and up to date. • Training will be provided, however the volunteer must be computer-literate.
