We are seeking passionate volunteers to join our Fundraising Committee to help raise vital funds for our Mentoring lab CIC and it platform ,Mentoring For Youth. As a committee member, you will help us research funders, write and strengthen funding applications, and develop corporate sponsorship opportunities , turning your skills directly into Youth Mentoring for young people who need it most.
The Mentoring Lab · Hackney, London (remote/hybrid) · 3–5 hours per week, minimum 3 months · Unpaid, expenses reimbursed · No DBS check required Purpose of the role Demand for our Youth Mentoring exceeds our capacity, and the constraint is funding. This role strengthens our fundraising so we can reach more young people. Every successful application converts into mentoring sessions delivered. Key responsibilities Funding research Identify trusts, foundations, corporate funders and statutory funding streams aligned to our work Maintain a funding pipeline recording deadlines, eligibility criteria and funder priorities Monitor Hackney and London-wide opportunities, and youth, employment, education and mental health funds Writing and applications Draft and edit funding applications, expressions of interest and case-for-support documents Translate existing impact data, case studies and consultation findings into funder-ready narrative Build a reusable bid library of standard responses on safeguarding, governance, monitoring and evaluationImpact and reporting Present outcomes in the language and formats funders expect Support end-of-grant reports and monitoring returns Strengthen how we evidence the difference Youth Mentoring makes. Person specification Essential Clear written English and the ability to write persuasively for a defined audience Strong attention to detail , funders reject applications on technicalities Well organised and able to work to deadlines with light supervision Commitment to improving outcomes for young people from Global Majority and disadvantaged backgrounds Discretion when handling organisational and financial information Desirable ; training and support provided Trust and foundation fundraising, bid writing or grant management experience Charity, community organisation, funder or public sector experience Knowledge of the Hackney or wider London funding landscape Corporate partnerships, CSR, business development or sales experience Research, policy, communications, marketing or journalism background
