Our Place Hackney, in partnership with Cooperation Town, is setting up a volunteer-led food co-op in the Well Street area. We are looking for committed and community-focused volunteers to help with the administration and finance side of the co-op. Volunteers will help local people access affordable groceries through bulk buying and surplus redistribution.

We are looking for committed and community-focused volunteers to help with the administration and finance side of the co-op. Volunteers will help local people access affordable groceries through bulk buying and surplus redistribution. Duties and responsibilities: • Managing weekly food orders from suppliers • Keeping track of co-op member contributions and payments • Coordinating with members on grocery distribution days • Communicating with co-op members about updates and collection times • Tracking member payments and keeping simple financial records • Ensuring orders are placed and paid for correctly • Helping to manage the co-op’s budget and funding where necessary • Supporting the admin volunteer with financial tasks This role is likely to be suitable for someone who is: - Organised - Reliable - Someone with basic bookkeeping skills - Experience handling finances - An interest in community initiatives. - Interested in supporting their local community. Who Can Apply? • Local residents or those happy to travel to the Well Street area • Community-minded people who want to help reduce food costs and food waste • Volunteers who are reliable and can commit for approximately four hours once or twice a week at least.
