Treasurer (Trustee)

St Margaret's House

St Margaret’s House (SMH) is a community Arts and Wellbeing Centre in Bethnal Green – a home for creative health. We are looking for someone with expertise in charity finance who can take on the voluntary role of Treasurer on our Board of Trustees. Trustees meet four times a year at 2-hour evening board meetings. The Treasurer is also expected to lead the Finance Sub Committee which meets at shorter online meetings between the formal full Board meetings. Apply no later than 6pm, Mon 5 Jan 26.

Detailed Description

St Margaret’s House (SMH) is a community Arts and Wellbeing Centre in Bethnal Green – a home for creative health. We believe in the transformative power of the arts and community connection to impact people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. We’re a site with lots of different venues: the award-winning, vegan Gallery Cafe, Ayoka Charity Boutique, a beautiful garden, offices for 30 tenant organisations and practitioners, and event and workshop spaces available to hire. We are looking for someone with expertise in charity finance who can take on the voluntary role of Treasurer on our Board of Trustees. Trustees meet four times a year at 2-hour evening (6pm-8pm) Board meetings at our venue (in Feb, May, Sept and Nov 2026), as well as at a weekend strategy day with all staff in June. The Treasurer is also expected to lead the Finance Sub Committee which meets at shorter online meetings between the formal full Board meetings. You will need: - Expertise in charity finances - Ability and confidence to chair Finance Sub Committee meetings - To undertake an Enhanced DBS check (we will pay for this if you don't already have one).

Time Commitment
