Mentor at New City College - Arbour Square

One Million Mentors

We are looking for mentors to inspire young people and share their experiences to brighten a young person’s future. You will be supporting the mentees in various ways such as thinking about their next steps, CV writing, confidence building or career advice. Our mentoring is hybrid and will take place online and in person at the college. This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to your community and support the next generation of young people.

Detailed Description

We are looking for mentors to inspire young people and share their experiences to brighten a young person’s future. You will be supporting the mentees in various ways such as thinking about their next steps, CV writing, confidence building or career advice. Our mentoring is hybrid and will take place online and in person at the college. This is a fantastic opportunity to give back to your community and support the next generation of young people. 1MM mentoring empowers young people to become the best version of themselves; building relationships free of assumption and judgement, where they benefit from another’s experience and perspective and can think bigger, find their own answers and take the next meaningful steps into their future.

What skills are required for this role

Basic IT skills - internet & email, Managing People

Why these skills are required

Mentors to have at least 2 years experience of mentoring or 2 years post graduate or retired/on a career break.

Time Commitment

One hour a month, on Wednesdays at 15:00 - this is a fixed timetable, 7 sessions in total.
