Are you passionate about food and cooking? Our Time is looking for an experienced cook to help run cooking sessions, teaching young people with SEND aged 14-25 how to cook various recipes and give them basic cooking skills. You do NOT have to be a trained chef. The sessions will take place one Wednesday afternoon per month, from 4:30pm to 6pm (dates to be confirmed).
Our Time is a youth forum for young people, aged 14 to 25, with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are based in Whitechapel and also have virtual meetings online. We play games, go on trips and do activities. We make sure that their voices are heard and they participate in activities and events that take place. As Our Time Chef you will be running a cooking session, teaching young people with SEND how to cook various recipes and give them basic cooking skills. You must be experienced in cooking, but you don't have to be a trained chef. You should also be comfortable with interacting and communicating with young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
You will teach other people through cooking which gives you satisfaction, great work experience and learning about their needs.
One Wednesday afternoon per month, from 4.30pm to 6pm (dates to be confirmed later).
