Graphic Design Adviser

Working Well Trust

Are you a creative professional with a flair for design and animation? We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help our clients create eye-catching graphics, animations, and marketing materials to enhance their online and offline presence. By volunteering, you’ll help entrepreneurs present their ideas more effectively and attract customers with impactful visuals. Four hours per fortnight, but timing can be flexible based on your availability and our clients’ needs.

Our mission is to improve lives by offering emotional and practical support at every stage of their recovery and employment journey, fostering self-respect, confidence, and financial independence. About the Business & Enterprise (B&E) Advice Service Starting a business or social enterprise can be both challenging and rewarding. For clients seeking independent advice to pursue an entrepreneurial career path, the Business & Enterprise Advice Service offers expert mentoring and practical guidance to help them overcome barriers and build sustainable businesses. What You’ll Do: o Collaborate with clients to design engaging branding and marketing materials such as brand logos, banners, social media posts, flyers, and website graphics. o Create animations and videos to enhance client marketing campaigns. o Mentor clients on design principles, branding, and effective visual storytelling. o Work alongside the experienced Business & Enterprise team to ensure each design’s aims align with our clients’ business objectives. Personal Disclosure A criminal record check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required to ensure suitability for working with vulnerable adults.

Essential Criteria: • Strong skills in graphic design and animation, with proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent. • Experience in creating marketing or branding materials and digital content. • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to explain design concepts to non-experts. • Empathy and patience when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with mental health challenges. Desirable Criteria: • Previous experience working with small businesses or startups on branding and design projects. • Knowledge of animation software, video editing, and content creation for social media. • Awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with mental health conditions or neurodiverse traits. Key Outcomes: • Enhanced client marketing efforts through professional-quality graphics and animations. • Increased client confidence in using design cues and visuals to promote their businesses. • Stronger online and offline presence for clients’ brands, leading to higher customer engagement.

Time Commitment

• Can be flexible based on your availability and our clients’ needs. • We ask volunteers to commit to at least 4 hours every fortnight. • Flexible scheduling to suit your availability, though we do need you to be available on the occasional Monday or Thursday to liaise with the Team Lead. • We can accommodate both regular and ad-hoc volunteering hours.
