Tideway Sailability is a unique sailing club in central London where people with or without a disability all sail together as one community. We are looking for volunteers to help with our sailing sessions for people with disabilities on Wednesdays and/or Sundays. The spirit of Tideway encourages all our members to volunteer and help each other, irrespective of any disability. Whether it is launching boats for those who cannot or less physical help such as offering advice and sailing tips; everyone at Tideway has something to offer, even if it is simply inspirational by being brave enough to sail against all the odds. We need volunteers to run all our activities- we have no paid staff. New volunteers are always needed to help with welcoming and preparing our sailors, helping with the boats shoreside, on the water accompanying our sailors, and with administration. No previous sailing experience is needed- we will teach you to sail. We use adapted boats that are simple to learn for both our sailors and the volunteers who accompany them. We sail in an enclosed former commercial dock in Rotherhithe and assistance is always on hand in case of difficulty.
