Art Session Volunteer

Use your artistic skills to volunteer alongside Providence Row staff to provide a welcoming and creative space where individuals experiencing homelessness can express themselves through art, build a sense of community, and access supportive resources. Help to run weekly art sessions and ensure everyone feels welcome and included. Volunteering takes place on Wednesdays from 9.45am to 1pm (the art session itself runs from 10am to 12pm).

Detailed Description

Providence Row are looking for artistic volunteers. You will work with our staff to provide a welcoming and creative space where individuals experiencing homelessness can express themselves through art, build a sense of community, and access supportive resources. You will work with staff to plan art sessions and come up with themes. During the session you will: * Organise, distribute, and replenish art supplies * Work alongside and help settle in our corporate volunteers * Engage in conversations with our homeless clients * Assist clients with their art and share your art skills * Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment * Ensure that all clients have been offered a drink and snack across the session, replenishing the drinks and snacks station during the session * Help with clear up at the end of the session Volunteering takes place on Wednesdays from 9.45am to 1pm (the art session itself runs from 10am to 12pm).

Why these skills are required

You will need to be creative and have some art skills you would like to share. You will need good communication skills and team work We are looking for enthusiastic, supportive and committed volunteers, with the ability to work with homeless clients who have varying support needs and challenging behaviours. All volunteers will need to undergo a basic level DBS (criminal record) check, paid for by Providence Row. If you already have one that is less than 2 years old, this may be accepted.
